Druk Air, the national airline of Bhutan and Tashi Air (Bhutan airlines), the first private airline in Bhutan has started its domestic flight operation from 17th December 2011. We have now three airports in the country, Paro international airport in the west, Bathpalathang airport in Bumthang, central Bhutan(BBH) and Yonphula airport in Trashigang, Eastern Bhutan(YBH). It is now possible to fly from east to west Bhutan in less than an hour. Tashi Air (Bhutan airlines) is operating a 8-seater Pilatus PC12/47 made in Switzerland while Druk Air is operating its ATR 42-500 aircraft on the domestic routes. Both the airlines will operate its domestic flight starting in Paro (PBH), makes a stop in Bathpalathang (BBH), Bumthang and then flies to Yongphula (YBH) and then makes it back on the same route.
